Axel Rivas, PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires; and Carlos Magro, president of the Asociación Educación Abierta, reflect on current education systems and teaching methods. Rivas advocates the search for an educational system that unites learning with a sense of enjoyment, rethinking what he calls school culture to add more creativity and freedom. A reflection with which Magro agrees, who asserts that a large part of the problems of disengagement and disinterest among students are due to a school culture that is too academic. Both agree on the need for a school-based education system that provides students with a solid foundation for understanding and transforming the world, beyond the demands of the economic and working environment.
