Isabel Celaá, Spain’s Minister of Education and Vocational Training, reflects on the future of school education and the challenges it faces in the context of the pandemic when asked by Mónica Ceberio, Deputy Director of El País. According to the minister, the Covid-19 crisis has highlighted the needs and urgencies of the Spanish education system, which is why it is time to start working on transformation. To this end, digitisation is fundamental, which he assures will make it possible in the future, through online education, to move towards a more personalised education, allowing students to develop their full potential and talent. All of this without abandoning classroom attendance, an aspect that Isabel Celaá defines as irreplaceable.
